ISFALT, one of the economic enterprises of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has been established in 1986 to meet the asphalt needs of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and city municipalities. The company adopted as a principle to serve for satisfying continually increasing needs and as per the changing nature of Istanbul, one of the biggest metropolises in the world; ISFALT maintains its works using the up-to-date technology in its field with a target to create the modern aspect of Turkiye.
ISFALT is a reputable company not only countrywide but also in Europe thanks to its successful projects and it was counted among the top 500 industrial enterprises in Turkiye in 2000. ISFALT rose its rank to the 10th among the public enterprises and the 255th in the general list in 2006.

ISFALT makes production and pavement of asphalt with its facilities in five factories located in Aydinli, Umraniye, Habibler, Ikitelli and Mahmutbey and meets the needs of our country in 20% and of Istanbul in 70% ; the company is proud to be among the best producers of Turkiye and Europe by its 3.500.000 ton asphalt production and 1.900 ton/h capacity. ISFALT is a leading company in its sector with common projects that are conducted together with universities, TUBITAK and the General Directorate of Highways and its innovative and competitive company culture besides the high quality production policy. In 1995, ISFALT started to make asphalt pavement works besides asphalt production. ISFALT's test results from its laboratory established for its special studies are acknowledged via the certification of TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 received in 2002; the company gets support from the American Asphalt Institute as an international activity.
ISFALT started to asphalt pavement works in 1995 and now is responsible for 4.500 km pavement and continues to work on 63 points with its 35 finishers (asphalt spreading machine), 138 rollers, 33 cutters (asphalt cutters), 40 robots, 7 circular cutters, 8 JCB and 275 trucks and a team of 1500 people. Apart from the pavement works, the company conducts a project to repair splits on the roads which constitute a serious problem for driving security. This project, which is implemented together with TUBITAK Marmara Research Center, helps pavements hinder to be deformed, extends the life of the road, increases driving comfort and minimizes traffic accidents by improving the pavement quality. The life of asphalt pavements could be extended to 18 years thanks to the project.

ISFALT changes the face of Istanbul and makes the city in a competition with notable metropolises in the world. It provides the use of colored asphalt, one of the indispensable elements of the modern urbanism approach and the architecture, on the footways, cycle roads, running tracks and pedestrian crossings for decorative purposes. For the places having heavy traffic, it uses "the stone mastic asphalt" coatings which are produced specifically to hinder wheel tracks and deformations on the pavement. The company also produces "the silent asphalt" to prevent noise pollution. It is preferred especially on the roads of places where the silence is important such as schools, hospitals, nursery homes, etc., and can be applied on all kinds of pavements.

ISFALT does the required application that suits metropolises and is always ready for possible traffic difficulties in the severe winter conditions. In winters, it serves on a basis of 24 h and works in cooperation with the Disaster Coordination Center and the Directorate of Road Maintenance - Repair against the dense snowing in the city.

As a new initiative, ISFALT started to recycle stripped asphalt pavement in 2007. With this project, tons of waste asphalt, which had been causing remarkable storage cost or pollution in Istanbul every year, will be recycled, so 550 thousand ton asphalt could be recovered per year. This project will save 23 million YTL yearly and prevent environmental pollution as well.
