Our company with its rapidly developing structure and harmonious team works that performs new investments in every year now is a holder of a new record again in production of asphalt in its five factories. Its production amount went beyond 4 million and 200 thousand ton in this season and ISFALT accomplished to pave most of this figure in other words, 3.950 ton asphalt to the roads before opening of schools.
As is known to all, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality started a custom of drawing the heavy duty machinery from roads before the school season and so made a substantial expansion in city constructions approach. Our intensive struggles for implementing the results of this expansion may deserve to be seen as a cultural revolution among our company's success stories. Our decisiveness on standardization of our area works has produced its fruits.
The year of 2007 is literally a progress year for our organization. In this year, a consequential part of asphalt types that we have formulated or developed firstly were examined in the laboratory and then prepared for application stage. These types can be enumerated as the mastic asphalt, mineral asphalt and stone mastic asphalt. We implemented the Stone Mastic Asphalt that is known with its strength on the metrobus road that has been built for loosening traffic jams on E-5 highway by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. The Mastic Asphalt that is appropriate especially for bridges has been firstly used to cover surfaces of HaliçBridge and the new Edirnekapý Bridge. We will implement paving works with other asphalt types that we produced and paved in small sized sites for trial in accordance with demands.
The maintenance of highways is costly as much as their constructions. We will be able to periodically examine the roads before they deteriorated through the Pavement and Asphalt Management System that we will put into effect soon. In light of the data we obtained from the roads, we will perform protective upkeep works and lengthen the service life of roads and reconstruct them if need be. I can proudly say that our company's study in this field is about to be concluded.
ISFALT moves forward on the way of being a worldwide know-how center of asphalt. That's why we all set priority to produce much more and high quality knowledge to accomplish the job and attain our goal. We are fortifying our knowledge acquisitions via trainings that we have been receiving from expert organizations in Turkiye and in foreign countries. We also share our know-how that we have gained thanks to these trainings with our employees and staffs of other institutions and bodies who demand training from us, instead of withholding the information, and we will always continue this policy.
