Following an environmentally friendly policy for all production and pavement works and engaging with the production within this framework, ŬSFALT runs the production activities using natural gas, the environmentally friendly energy, in all five factories. ŬSFALT is the one and only company that use natural gas, the environmentally friendly fuel, in its asphalt plants in Turkey.
Three thousand leylandi type saplings planted along the surrounding walls of the factories grew up and formed a natural set of wall. These trees with pine leaf and resistant to dust have been planted with an interval of 1,5 meters. It was ensured that the trees grow up with no gap at all and create a green set that will surround the factory. These trees acting as a natural set deter the wind-related dusting and high level of dusting that takes place in the course of stocking the stone chips, one of the raw materials of the asphalt.
Along with these trees, five factories were equipped with irrigation system to irrigate the factory yard and piles of stone chips together with these trees. This system which enables the factory to be automatically irrigated operates with raining system. In the production and silo area, a method called smoking is used. In this method, the water entering the system is pulverized by means of a pump and is transferred to the area of dusting in the form of smoke. Thus; it is ensured that the dusting does not take place without wetting the materials.
Since the system is equipped with a sensor, it is automatically started only in the course of dusting. Pulverization time and density is adjusted according to the severity of the dusting.
In ŬSFALT factories, the points where dusting can take place such as cold silo and conveyor are covered. Thus, it is ensured that the production systems operate in close circuit and are kept under control at all times.
